There are around 200 costumes for you to borrow - from clowns, fairies, princess, pirates and much more.

Costumes are collected from and returned to the Norwood RSL Hall, 4 Woods Street, Norwood. 

Simply come along to the below collection dates and our Volunteers will assist with selecting a costume for you. (costumes for all ages and a range of sizes).

The Pageant starts at Woods Street, Norwood and travel east along The Parade to Queen Street.

Floats line up on The Parade (between Fullarton Road and Woods Street).

George Street, Norwood, north of The Parade, is currently undergoing an upgrade with changes to traffic access and movement currently in place. Traffic cannot access George Street from the south or from The Parade. 

Temporary road closures are in place on the day of the Norwood Christmas Pageant.

The Council would like to thank local businesses, residents and visitors to the Parade in advance for their cooperation on the day of the event.

To reduce the number of road closures associated with this event and to minimise the disruption to traffic on major roads and the surrounding side streets, floats will line-up on The Parade, between Fullarton Road and Woods Street.

Road closure times

The following roads will be closed to traffic for ‘The Norwood Christmas Pageant’ between 5:00am and 2:30pm on Saturday 22 November, with the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

NOTICE UNDER SECTION 33 ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1961

• The Parade: Fullarton Road to Portrush Road;
• Beulah Road: Portrush Road to George Street;
• Queen Street: Magill Road to The Parade;
• George Street: Webbe Street to The Parade;
• Edward Street: Webbe Street to The Parade; and
• Woods Street: Beyer Street to The Parade.

Some surrounding side streets will be affected. Traffic management will allow for resident access where possible.

Persons taking part in the ‘Norwood Christmas Pageant’ on The Parade, Queen Street and Beulah Road full road closures only are exempted from all Australian Road Rules relating to carriage of persons on vehicles or trailers, wearing of seatbelts, how vehicles travel and park on roads, wearing of cycle helmets and pedestrain behaviour.

There are lots of spots to park but you need to get in quick, allow yourself toime to find a park and also to leave the evnet. use alternative ways of getting to the event, bus, scooter, walk or cycle.

Please ensure your suppliers, customers and employees are aware of the temporary road closures and the times during which they will be in place.

Your shop will be exposed to many people, so be ready to invit them in or entice them to come back and visit you!

Eastbound services and heavy vehicles will be diverted via Fullarton Road, Magill Road, Portrush Road and then onto The Parade as per normal.

Westbound services will be diverted in the reversal of eastbound services.
