The Parade's Shop to Win competition turns everyday shopping trips into life-changing prizes
29/06/2026
When Angel decided to see a movie at HOYTS Norwood recently, he had no idea that it would be a life-altering decision.
Angel usually visits The Parade a few times a year to dine at one of the many restaurants like Kazumi Ramen, but something else caught his eye this time.
“I remember seeing the first prize for the Shop to Win competition at the cinema and thinking it was a good-looking car,” he recalls.
Noting that he could win the Subaru Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid from Jarvis Subaru by spending $25 or more, he realised his movie ticket qualified as an entry.
When that single entry won him the first prize, he was so excited that he had to double-check to make sure it was actually his name on the website.
The prize is especially sweet, because “I'm a Subaru fan and my last few cars have been Subarus,” he gushes.
“But I've never had a new car before, so I'm going to keep this one.”
And with a big adventure on the horizon, he's already planning to put it to good use.
“My partner and I have booked a road trip to Mt Buller at the end of next month, and now we will have a nice new (and safe) car to go on our trip!”

Local resident Nick is a more frequent visitor to The Parade, visiting several times a week to pick up groceries at Foodland, books at Dillons and enjoy the many options for dining out.
Feeling a bit under the weather, he popped into Priceline for some medicine, “and in time-honoured tradition, I scanned and entered my receipt on the final day of the competition”.
As such, he was very pleasantly surprised to find out he'd won a South Australian holiday package worth up to $10,000 from Phil Hoffmann Travel.
With that budget, Nick can plan a trip almost anywhere in the state and is currently tossing up whether to plan a grand outback adventure.
The second prize comes at an especially good time because “being busy means we don't get a lot of time to plan holidays, so I am planning to enjoy it as much as possible!”

Nathalie is another regular visitor to The Parade, drawn by the excellent selection of health food stores and high-quality butchers.
But after taking her mother to some nearby medical appointments, she decided they should grab a coffee and treat themselves with a visit to Serafina boutique.
And when she found out that the spontaneous shopping trip had won her an e-bike valued at up to $5,000 thanks to Bicycle Express Norwood, she was over the moon.
Though Nathalie's not a regular bike rider, her husband is, and “winning the e-bike means that we can now plan some enjoyable trips together”.
With a powerful motor making it easy for Nathalie to keep up, the couple are already planning weekend getaways to explore areas like the Barossa and Clare Valley.
“Having the added support of the e-bike gives me more confidence, knowing I’ll have some extra help if I need it.”
Thank you to everyone who played their part in this competition, what prizes will The Parade have on offer next year?
