The Whirling Mandala

The Whirling Mandala

The Whirling Mandala was created by internationally renowned sculptor, Greg Johns to mark the declaration of municipal government on 7 July 1853. The piece, a major public artwork commissioned by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters in 2002, celebrates the concept of democratic government and the right to self-determination for future generations.

The scale of this impressive sculpture is beautifully presented in its permanent location on the grass median of Osmond Terrace, just a short leafy walk north of The Parade.
