BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival

A new event for Adelaide proudly presented by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters on behalf of the Norwood Parade Precinct Committee.

The inaugural BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival held its media launch at the Natuzzi showroom on The Parade on Tuesday, 14 October, with a special guest appearance by Finesse Model, Michelle Hissey "the Face of the BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival!"

Two BMW Series 125i convertibles were parked in front of Natuzzi adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the launch. Festival Sponsors and VIPs were all in attendance with more than eighty guests present, including media representatives from Adelaide's major media organisations.

Naming Rights Sponsor for the Festival is Adelaide BMW. Gold sponsors for the event are Coopers, Norwood Place, James Thredgold Jeweller and Wicks Estate Wines. Media Partners are Channel 10, Kojo Group, Nova 91.9 and Rip It Up Publishing.

Silver sponsors include Encore Group, Goldwell, The Printing Hub, Toop & Toop, Natuzzi and The Marketing Centre. Travel on Parade, Santa Vittoria and Angove's have taken up Bronze Sponsorships.

For this evening's launch, Michelle was styled by BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival's Fashion Coordinator, Charlotte Chambers, with clothing by Sooki on The Parade and hair and makeup by Orbe Salon.

"Finally we have a fashion showcase event for Adelaide! It's been a long time coming but it has now arrived", said the Chair of the Adelaide Fashion Festival Sub-Committee, Cr Barbara Erichsdotter.

"Our aim is to see the BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival grow over the coming years into the likes of a Melbourne or Sydney Fashion Festival, putting our local fashion industry on the national map and shining a light on our local fashion designers who we know possess tremendous talent capable of realising international export potential." she said.

The Festival runs from Wednesday 5 November to Saturday 8 November and organisers are focused on presenting three quality events in the Festival's inaugural year.

Festival Launch + Industry Networking Breakfast

An event for Adelaide's Fashion Industry including retailers, educators, commentators, designers, buyers, models and lovers of all things fashion! Hosted by Channel 10's Jane Reilly, this fashion industry networking event will feature Martin Haese, founder of iconic fashion store Youthworks, and founder and Managing Director of Retail IQ, as well as retailing expert Ali Uren of The Retailing Edge.

Late Night Shopping - Parades on The Parade + In-Store Champagne Parties!

Parades on The Parade is a Thursday late night shopping event with a difference!

The Parade, Norwood will be closed between Edward & George Streets from 6pm onwards for a series of FREE Fashion Parades on The Parade between 7.30 and 9.30pm.

Nova's 91.9 Lisa Fernandez and well-known fashion commentator, Chris Kontos will co-host this exciting evening, which will see Parade businesses host their own In-Store Champagne Parties, and then congregate with their guests in front of Norwood Town Hall from 7.30pm onwards to enjoy a series of FREE fashion 'Parades on The Parade'.

The Parade will be transformed into an outdoor catwalk, beginning from Norwood Town Hall and extending west down The Parade towards the BAFF Bar, which will feature wines by Wicks Estate Wines, beer by Coopers, sparkling wine by Angove's and other beverages by Santa Vittoria.

Adelaide's best dressed men and women will be selected by Nova's Mel Greig and Jules Schiller with prizes from James Thredgold Jeweller being vouchers to the total value of $3500 and an Alan Moffatt Drive Day from Adelaide BMW.

To view this fashion spectacular, simply head to The Parade, Norwood on Thursday 6 November from 6pm to visit the fabulous range of Parade fashion boutiques. Then gather on The Parade in front of the Norwood Town Hall from 7.30pm to secure a good vantage point, so you can get the most out of this exciting street fashion parade event!

Gala Fashion Showcase Event.

The BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival culminates in a glittering gala event in the Georgian elegance of the Norwood Concert Hall. This stand-up cocktail affair will be an opportunity to rub shoulders with Adelaide's fashion elite. The evening's program will include three fashion parades with the pinnacle of the evening, a showcase of fashion by Adelaide's best emerging designers!

The exclusive fashion gala showcase on Saturday 8 November will complete the Festival program for this year. The program includes parades featuring fashion from some of Adelaide's best boutiques.

The highlight of the evening will be a showcase of designs by Adelaide's emerging designers, one of whom will take home the Festival's Best Emerging Designer Award donated by Norwood Place.

With sumptuous canapes by Encore Group and refreshments by Wicks Estate Wines, Coopers, Santa Vittoria, Angove's and Bolero Sangria, this is one Adelaide Fashion Showcase not to be missed
